The Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 has now come into effect which means no payment can be made in cash.
It is now a requirement by law for all scrap metal dealers to have identification from all customers.
The types of identification are very specific. Customers must provide one of the following:
A photocard driving licence
A passport or national identify card accompanied by a utility bill as proof of address.
It is an offence for a scrap dealer to serve anybody who cannot provide this information.
As payment cannot be in cash we offer same day payment into your bank account at no charge or by cheque.
